Hong Kong Pics update (3)

Yesterday, I was across the harbor on Kowloon taking photos of Hong Kong island. Today, I was with Eric and Bill, two former colleauges I've worked with ...

Pelf, I didn't take the peak tram. It was packed - it was like getting into our extinct bas mini wilayah. We guys went to the top in Eric's luxurious German marquee car. It sure beats the tram ... at least that I can think of, when compared to luxurious German marquee car.

Had dinner at the peak, and caught up with the good old time. Not bad at all .... not bad at all ...

Again, pictures with commentaries and click to see the larger pic.

The peak. This is in the evening when we first got there. Lights are already switched on, but not quite. The view wasn't quite as good because ...

The Peak was under renovation - reopening in September. There goes the magnificent view. Now you have to be at the restaurant ... Cafe Dome to get the spectacular view.

Had food here with these guys. Notice the lack of camwhoring- that's because we're mature adults who handle ourselves like ... well ... mature adults. Can't see the Hong Kong skyline from this picture here though since the glass reflects, but let's just imagine it's like, really, really, nice, okay ?? Eric standing, Bill sitting at front, Moz trying to hide baby fat.

Bulus Lee (Bruce Lee) met us in his pajamas, so he couldn't get into the ultra exclusive, chic restaurant. And although he was relaxed, he was kinda aggressive - look at him - like wanna fight liddat how to get into a restaurant ?

My dining view ... without exaggeration, one of the best dinner views I've ever had. And the food was excellent too ... thanks to Eric for picking the tab, and driving me around ... appreciate that lots. And only Eric could pull the strings to get a window seat at a moment's notice ... no one else does these things better than he does.

It's pretty, but I'm sure that being closer to the edge on The Peak (the shopping center & outdoor viewing platform), it would have been a much, much, better view ... I wasn't disappointed, it was still great ... probably only Shanghai has much more lights along the water compared to Hong Kong ...

Eric then drove us to a lookout point along the Peak Road ... and the view, was even BETTER. While it's true you can't quite see the whole island, but you do get a much closer look at some of the buildings, and it was really nice. I'm glad I did get to see this view too, and to be honest, I'm quite blown away by Hong Kong ...

And this too ... another view of the harbor from the lookout spot near the Peak Road. I like. I *heart* Hong Kong night scene.

"... probably only Shanghai has much more lights along the water compared to Hong Kong..." True, especially if you get to see the whole of Shanghai's view from atop the Oriental Pearl Tower.. =)

But as for as I'm concerned, there are times in Shanghai where the city lights would have to be swutched off to conserve energy.. =(

ladies: I'm assuming you all are ladies ... I forgot to say I was EXTREMELY lucky the skies were clear yesterday night when I was up at the Peak. The locals told me 80% of the time, you can't see much because of a persistent haze (from factory pollution) ...

But still ... *sigh* ... it's soooOOOOoooOOOO nice, isn't it?

pelf: Shanghai, I think you really just want the view from across the Whampoa River ... the top down view ... well ... only Pudong is lights ... Puxi is not much ...

cheng sim: I actually invited you ... I could have stuffed you into my luggage ... ;) ... anyways, now the weather is a little too hot. Try coming when the weather's a little nicer ... and Disneyland in HK is losing $$$ - not enough visitors due to some bad press - so it's good time for you to visit !!

angeliu: Eh ... you I quite sure lah - lady.
