Hong Kong Pics update (2)
Just a few more pics from Hong Kong. Training ended a little early today, so I went sightseeing with Raymond, my old friend I knew from a project I did with my previous company. Called him up, and we met at Mongkok.
So we went out around Mongkok, he showed me around the place - Women Street, Sporting Goods market, Sinbad (Mobile Phone market) and we had an authentic Mongkok restaurant meal ... had a Yin Yeung (coffee and tea mix), char siew and some great tofu ... yummy ...
Some photos from my little sightseeing, plus notes ... as usual, click to see a bigger pic ...
This is the Night view from my hotel room ... I have a harbor view room, but it's not much, is it? That's Kowloon's Tsim Tsa Tsui on the far side ..
Same view from my hotel room, now during daytime. Notice the mean looking military / police style ship in the middle of the harbor ... I swear the guns were pointed in my direction ...
OK, maybe I shouldn't be complaining about my view ... it's pretty alright.
Yesterday's dinner at Causeway Bay was with colleagues Andrei and Jeerawan (both not in picture - d'oh) ... presenting Siu Loong Pao, at a highly recommended local eating house. We were quite adventurous - we also had Stinking Tofu, amongst others. I'm quite used to Stinking Tofu, and like it loads, but Andrei, being a Russian ... well, salut brother ... you a brave man ...
Mongkok at night. This was taken late at night ... like almost 10 p.m. ... it's busy as ever, with no sign of the crowd getting thin or the lights dimming. This place is so full of life ...
Ah ... (almost) every woman's shopping paradise ... Ladies Market / Women Street in Mongkok. 4 blocks of bargains, sweaty shoppers and shouting matches between vendors and bargain hunters. What a place to be at ...
And here, the pick of my night shots at Tsim Tsa Tsui across the channel from Hong Kong island. I didn't bring a tripod, so I had to put my camera on a garbage bin to take blur-free night photos.
The night scenery here sure beats the ones elsewhere in Asia. Can someone think of a better view in Asia? Singapore is nowhere close. Tokyo? Nope. KL? Nice, but ... nah ... it's gotta be Hong Kong.

Ei, the last paragraph... did u write that before? Uh huh, love the night scenery there!
Oh yeah! Mongkok!!! Siu loong pau!!
Eeeeww! I could never try the Stinking Tofu...
Thanks for sharing the pics..
Hong Kong rocks!
And I bet with you the night view from atop Victoria Peak is just as beautiful, if not better (take the tram up, muahaha).. =)
I don't like Siu Loong Pau, I think it has a funny taste, and quite oily too..
ARGH! I want to go to HK again!!!
angel: Yup ... night scenery in Hong Kong rocks ... but no Siew Ngor yet ...
amelia: Oh, it's like us and our durians ... now you know how our angmoh friends feel when we force durians on them ...
pelf: About that muahaha laugh ... is it evil, or wicked? I'll try to get to the peak tonight, and stay on the right side of the tram, hopefully ... looking forward to the lights from there.
Hehe maybe after this you can help me(info) with my HK trip. Plan to go there next year. Can't wait.
Your first picture brings back memories. Just like you, I had to use a nearby dustbin to take the night shot. Hey, maybe we used the same dustbin?
Take a look here. I think we took the shot at the same place and angle.

che-cheh: Wah ?? So co-incidental one ah ?? Ok .. sure, drop me an email.
din: Man ... the resemblance is ... uncanny .. maybe we did take the pictures at the same dustbin ... *high five din* ... =)
OK..when I'm set to go I will drop u an email. I'm waiting for AirAsia free tickets. LOL
I said take the tram because the tram goes up the slope in such a gradient that if you tried to stand, you would tend to lean sooo much forward AND not touch the floor.. ARGH.. I'm sure you don't understand me =(
che-cheh: Free AirAsia ticket ... come work in my company lah ... we fly pretty regularly ... you just have to give up sleep ...
pelf: I know what you're talking about ... I've taken the tram previously ...
